Kincare provides families with the best possible ABA therapy in Kansas City. We care enormously about helping your child grow and thrive while accounting for the family’s needs and desires. With Kincare, we also make learning fun! Our team is passionate about helping your child learn to love learning.
Why ABA
ABA is an evidence-based approach that focuses on increasing positive behaviors while decreasing excessive behaviors that may impede a child’s ability to learn.
An advantage of ABA therapy in Kansas City is that it uses measurable goals to determine the effectiveness of treatment. Relying on data allows us to remove biases in our teaching methods and make the best choices for our clients in designing treatment methods.
Our Approach
Personalized Care
Kincare’s individualized treatment plans always put your child’s needs first. Each treatment plan is tailored to meet the specific needs of your child and family.
Flexible Scheduling
We always seek to maximize the potential of ABA! Since we offer home-based services, we have the freedom to match therapy to a family’s schedule. Additionally, we offer the option for families to do therapy sessions within a community setting, such as trips to the local park or even the zoo!
Locally Owned
Kincare is locally owned and operated. This means our families have direct access to the director of Kincare, giving our families a voice within Kincare and the treatment process.
Family Based Approach
Families play a vital role in the ABA process! Kincare encourages families to provide feedback and become involved in their child’s program. We also offer training sessions for family members to help families learn and apply the ABA principles.
Discrete Trial Training
helps children learn new skills by breaking the skills into individual steps, which then build on each other to help the child learn the overall skill.
Focused ABA Treatment
helps children learn replacement behaviors and adapt to environments to reduce the occurrence of excessive behaviors.
Our Team
Kincare takes great care in selecting the amazing Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to provide clients with the best ABA treatment possible.
All Kincare RBTs are individually certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and undergo thorough background checks. Additionally, we ensure our RBTs have the opportunity to gel with clients and their families, a process that maximizes the potential of ABA therapy.
Variety of Treatment Methods
Kincare uses a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to achieve our treatment goals:
Early-Intensive Intervention
is for children ages five years old and younger and provides 25 to 40 hours of treatment per week. Research provides clear evidence that the earlier a child begins an ABA program, the more significant the gains in increasing desired behaviors and decreasing negative behaviors tend to be.
Comprehensive ABA Treatment
focuses on a wide range of critical developmental skills rather than just one skill area. Skill areas often included in this method include communication, social, play, and attention skills.
Natural Environment Teaching
(sometimes called “Naturalistic Teaching” or “Incidental Teaching”), which uses the child’s natural environment to make it easier for a child to generalize the skills and behaviors they have learned to additional settings.
